Gilles Peterson / DJ Hell

Whilst I’m a regular listener to Gilles Peterson’s podcast, it’s been quite a while since I’ve listened to his Radio 1 show.  No particular reason other procrastination really.  He must have known I was listening this week as he opened with the Angst by DJ Hell.  Much has been made of it’s gothic and balearic nods whilst others have likened it to Can and Neu of which I’m not so sure.  There is more than an hint of Dj Shadow in there in my opinion paticularly pt1.  References and influences aside its a wonderful track.  You can listen to all 13 minutes and 56 seconds of Part 1 and 2 here. (Lanches in seperate player)

Oh and Gilles’ show wasn’t half bad either!

Glasto 2009 Line Up

Glastonbury 2009 is just over 5 weeks away and apparently this gal claims that “In 2005, 2007, and 2008 this site brought you 90% of ALL the acts on the Pyramid (even the little ones!), and loads of the headliners on every stage!”. That’s a hefty line up she’s claiming to be party to.
